Position Summary

The Marketing Assistant is responsible for supporting the Marketing Coordinator and company leadership in the development and execution of Hansen & Company Woodworks’ marketing initiatives. The Marketing Assistant will assist in research and development for new woodworks products, assist in the development of marketing collateral, track existing marketing campaigns and report on results and coordinate market research studies.

The ideal candidate will be open to feedback, confident and calm under pressure, and self-motivated to complete tasks on a deadline with little supervision. The position is full time and may require some night and weekend hours. Independent initiative, creativity, a collaborative nature and an understanding of how to engage B2B customers are a must. 


Essential Job Functions

1. Research & Development

  • Assist Marketing Coordinator & company leadership with research and development of new products, this may include:

    • Design mockups of marketing or product material.

    • Devise and evaluate best methods or procedures for collecting data; such as surveys, opinion polls, questionnaires, product comparison or arrange to obtain existing data.

    • Prepare reports of findings, illustrating data graphically and translating complex findings into written text.

  • Track existing marketing campaigns to completion and report on result.

2. Social/Digital Implementation

  • Development of content per guidelines.

  • Manage delegated or approved campaigns and report/measure results.

3. Occasional Website Content & Administration

  • Upload media to gallery for use in email campaigns or on pages.

  • Occasional blog writing and placement per approved plan & frequency.

  • Review and recommend or manage updates for keyword optimization/SEO.

4. Assist with promotional activities: host presentations, organize customer, public or employee events:

  • Assist with creating an atmosphere appropriate to the event.

  • Assist with communications & advertising.

  • Assist or coordinate logistical considerations.

5. Assist with design and creation of marketing materials such as brochures and mailers by writing copy and/or formatting content and graphics.

6. Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.

Other Job Functions

Be available as a resource for Marketing Coordinator & company leadership who need assistance with completing large projects.

Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

  • Understanding and implementing Sales & Marketing, Customer & Personal Service, Communications & Media, Mathematics, Design and Clerical procedures.

  • Critical thinking, complex problem solving, and evaluation skills.

  • Excellent communication, time management, organizational, data entry, analyzing & processing skills.

  • The ability to work in a team environment as well as individually.

  • The ability to use deductive and inductive reasoning.

  • The ability to think originally and visualize.

  • Must be willing to travel to offsite occasionally.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Office 365; working knowledge of InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.

  • Interest and persistence in learning and gaining knew knowledge.
