Position Summary

The Final Cabinet Assembler will be responsible for installation of cabinet components such as hardware, drawers, doors and cabinet accessories as well as moving cabinets down the production line and preparing for shipment.


Essential Job Functions

1. Read and understand blueprints, spec sheets and build to drawings as assigned.

2. Ensure fabrication and installation consistency.

3. Position parts and subassemblies using templates or reading measurements.

4. Keep equipment and work area clean and well organized.

5. Resolve assembly problems by altering dimension to meet specifications, notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.

6. Inspect cabinets for quality, including but not limited to:

  • Measure and inspect visually to check tolerances of product.

  • Communicate with supervisor on any quality issues found during inspection.

  • Validates correct product labels are being used on products during the manufacturing process.

  • Clean and polish products before packaging.

7.  Load, organize, and prepare products for shipping:

  • Install protective devices, such as corner guards, padding, or strapping, to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported.

8. Assist other departments after daily responsibilities are completed.

Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

  • Knowledge of:

    • Raw materials, production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture procedure; general knowledge of wood species a plus.​

    • Principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Fellow team members are your customers.

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills:

    • Talking to others to convey information effectively.​

    • Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.

    • Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

    • Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.

    • Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.

  • The ability to:

    • Exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects.​

    • Use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without 'giving out' or fatiguing.

    • Exert yourself physically over long periods of time without getting winded or out of breath.

    • Bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs.

    • Arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations).

    • Work in a team environment as well as individually.

    • Maintain safety standards and follow quality control procedures.

    • Safely lift up to 70 pounds regularly.
